About TVC
For more than 30 years, Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) is a leading voice in the halls of Congress for the Bible-based traditional values that created and preserved our nation and our prosperity for over two centuries. These values include:
  • Promoting religious liberty and a free society;
  • Uncovering wasteful spending in Washington;
  • Championing Judeo-Christian values in the public square;
  • Protecting traditional marriage and family as the cornerstone of society;
  • Securing the Constitution against the growing threat of Islam and Shariah law;
  • Defending human life from its earliest moments to natural death; and
  • Ensuring the economic security of future generations of Americans as a moral issue.

Founded in 1980 by ordained minister Reverend Louis Sheldon, TVC is America’s largest non-denominational, grassroots church lobby, speaking on behalf of more than 43,000 allied churches and millions of like-minded patriots.

Rev. Sheldon and his daughter, TVC President Andrea Lafferty, testify before Congress and lobby members of Congress daily on a wide variety of issues, and are also commentators on such broadcast media as Fox News, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, and ABC. They have also been featured in publications such as the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the Wall Street Journal.

Mrs. Lafferty directs TVC's day-to-day-operations, media relations and legislative strategy and is well known in the halls of Congress, working in the Reagan and Bush Administrations, and is widely respected as a political strategist -- named as one of the most effective lobbyists in Washington D.C. by the prestigious Washingtonian Magazine.

Andrea was one of the key leaders in the successful campaigns to support the nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court as well as spearheading legislative efforts to stop the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which would have created a federally protected minority status for homosexuals and transgender individuals in employment. ENDA would have forced schools to put transgenders in the classroom.

TVC continues to lead the charge on behalf of its millions of grassroots members and 43,000 affiliated churches nationwide to preserve the Judeo-Christian ethics upon which the United States is founded.
